Wiccan New Year Ritual
Though calendars are a human creation and differ throughout the world, the cycle of life is a constant and New Year is a powerful time to say goodbye to what has been and set our intentions for what is to come. Here is a Wiccan New Year ritual with which we give thanks for what we have and steer our lives towards what we want. Samhain is traditionally known as the Wiccan New Year, so you can perform this ritual in the days or nights leading up to either Samhain or your calendar New Year’s Eve.
What you need for the Wicca New Year ritual:
Pen and paper
Incense (preferably sage or citronella)
A black candle
A chalice and water
A quartz crystal (or manifestation quartz if you have) of any size
A small jar
Sit or stand somewhere quiet and comfortable where you can create a holy space to perform this new year ritual, or by your altar if you have one. Focus on your breathing, calm your mind and soul, and when you feel relaxed and at peace, you may begin.
Write on the piece of paper briefly what you intend for the coming new year. Are you looking for love, financial stability, friendship, joy, adventure? Write briefly and generally – the Universe will bring what is best for you, so it is best not to focus too much on specifics, but it is a good sign if when you write it you get a warm, fuzzy feeling of excitement inside!
Then let us begin the ritual. We engage the elements one by one.
Air: Light incense, ideally sage (for cleansing) or citronella (for cleansing and healing). Say:
“God and Goddess, Mother and Father
I give my thanks for all that I have
With air I cleanse the past
To prepare for a prosperous new year
For the highest good
So be it”
Let the incense fill the air as you allow any negativity or heaviness leave your energy field. Visualise a bright rainbow around you, growing ever brighter and more colourful with every breath.
“Thank you.”
Fire: Light a black candle (made from beeswax if possible). In candle magick black absorbs negativity and destroys it, connects with self-control and resilience, and offers strength and support in manifestation work. It is also a colour of Samhain. As you light the candle, contemplate what you have been through in the past year, and focus on releasing any energy baggage you may be carrying, disintegrating it through the transforming fire; then visualise the fire bringing energy and spark to your future. Say:
“God and Goddess, Mother and Father
I give my thanks for all that I have
With fire I ignite the future
To prepare for a prosperous new year
For the highest good
So be it”
Leave the candle burning until you have finished the ritual.
“Thank you.”
Water: Take the chalice and fill it with water. Cup your hands around the chalice and sit with it, allowing your energies to merge and blend with those of the water. Fill your heart with gratitude for water, its purifying and life-giving properties. Raise the chalice and say:
“God and Goddess, Mother and Father
I give my thanks for all that I have
With water I vitalise the future
To prepare for a prosperous new year
For the highest good
So be it”
Drink the water. Pay close attention to the feeling of it in your body, cleansing, reviving, energising.
“Thank you.”
Earth: Take the piece of paper and wrap it around the quartz, which will assist in manifesting your wishes. Hold it in your hands and say:
“God and Goddess, Mother and Father
I give my thanks for all that I have
With earth I manifest my wishes
To welcome a prosperous new year
For the highest good
So be it”
Place it in the jar and keep somewhere safe and undisturbed.
“Thank you.”
Now thank the elements for their presence and assistance, and send them on their way by patting the floor/ground three times.
Spend some time visualising already having manifested your wishes on the piece of paper. Feel the butterflies of joy or the calm of satisfaction fill you. Hold on to that feeling as you close the ritual and move into the new year.

Money
To see or win money in your dream indicates that success and prosperity are within your reach. Money represents confidence, self-worth, success, or values. You have much belief in yourself. Simple Wiccan New Year Blessing Rite Without Tools or Supplies
New Year's Eve Spell
New Year’s Eve may not be a Wiccan holiday, but it is a special
time nonetheless. The planet has made yet another rotation around
the Sun, and it’s something the human race almost universally recognizes
now. As such, it is a good time for a simple rite.
If you have a formal ritual structure to which you adhere, and you would
like to do your traditional circle casting and quarter calling with your tools
in the usual way, feel free to do so. However, if you have not progressed
enough in Wicca yet, have not started practicing formal ritual or collecting
tools, or if you simply won’t have access to them during the holidays,
you do not need them.
You Will Need
Confetti- like item

rice, birdseed, paper; Just don’t use metallic or plastic confetti, you want it to be biodegradable
|

A ritual beverage

champagne, juice, or other natural liquid. Avoid soda pops and drinks with artificial ingredients. Water will do as well.

Preparing for Ritual
Start out by cleansing yourself for ritual. You might want to take a bath, or a dip in natural waters if you’re not in a cold climate. Alternately, you can smudge yourself with a cleansing incense like sage, or just go outdoors and stand with your feet apart, arms out and head back—let a good blast of wind cleanse you of your negativity.
Go somewhere quiet and private; it can be your room, or outdoors under the moon—wherever you like. Relax. Envision growing ‘energy roots’ out of your spine. They go right down to the base of your spine, spread out and go down your legs and right out of the souls of your feet. They wind down deep into the surface of the earth—through the pavement, through the sewers and other underground human creations, and deep down into the planet. Envision yourself drawing Earth’s energy up from these roots into your body.
Envision out of the top of your head that there are branches growing out, out of your spine, up your neck and out of the top of your head. They branch up, up into the sky, beyond the Earth’s atmosphere, into space. They tap into the energies of the sun, the moon, the stars, the universe itself—and you draw that energy down through your branches like a channel, right into yourself.
Envision the energies from above and the energies from below meeting in your body, right at your center (behind and slightly below your navel). Envision them filling you, swirling and mingling together, empowering and nourishing you
Observing the Rite
Hold a bowl of confetti in your receptive hand (the hand that you don’t write with). At this point, you’re going to go around to the quarters and draw the Elemental energies into your confetti.
You can use my words, or whatever words you are comfortable with. If you’re not exactly sure which direction is which, just make your best guess, keeping in mind that the Sun rises in the East and sets in the West. Please view note below regarding direction associations.*
North: I call to you, O Powers of North, ye Powers of Air; of wisdom and knowledge. With your permission, I draw from you the blessings of enlightenment. Bring clarity to me so that I might think and make decisions better in the coming year.
East: I call to you, O Powers of East, ye Powers of Earth; of stability and fertility. With your permission, I draw from you the blessing of strength; bring firm resolve to me so that I might stand against adversity and survive challenges.
South: I call to you, O Powers of the South, ye Powers of Fire; of passion and will. With your permission, I draw from you the blessings of courage so that I might face those things that frighten me and triumph over that which threatens me.
West: I call to you, O Powers of the West, ye Powers of Water; of sensitivity and nurturing. With your permission, I draw from you the blessings of intuition so that I might attune better with my Gods, the cycles of nature and the cycles of life, and grow in spirit from those relationships.
At this point, invoke your Gods. I’m not going to tell you what to say or how it is best to do that, as I don’t know who your Gods are. This is definitely a personal matter between you and them. You can use a regular, established prayer, or you can speak off the cuff. Either way, as you invoke them, finish by telling them you honor them and ask for any blessings they may wish to bestow upon you.
The New Year Moon
Closing the Ritual
Sit for a while, and meditate on the rotation of the planet, on the cycles of the moon and the cycles of the sun. Meditate on the ever turning of the Universe, the dance that keeps life going. Focus on all the blessings and the abundance of positive energies out there, waiting for us to both intake them, and expel them to share with others. The energies of the Universe are an eternal give-and-take, and note that you are part of that cycle.
When you’re ready, take your confetti, throw it up in the air and say, “Another New Year brings and abundance of blessings!” Throw it so that it showers back down upon you.
Make a libation to your Gods by thanking them and pouring out the beverage into the Earth, or into a cup or bowl that you’ll spill out onto the Earth later on.
You can sit and meditate a while further, or you can thank the quarters and the Gods, and be on your way.
If you’re indoors, sweep up as much confetti as you can and bury it.
*A note about elemental associations—these can vary in different traditions. The correspondences in my trad are North/Air, East/Earth, South/Fire, West/Water. I believe the more common associations are North/Earth, East/Air, South/Fire, West/Water. I’m not going to get into here if one is better or not, because you should really follow what you believe, or what your trad (if you have one) teaches.

Neoconda & Boogie the book) 3 NIGHTS & 2 DAYS LATER
Mom, Mom, MOM, MOMMM! Trirena yells her lil heart out. What lil girl? A snake when by your truck. Where at, Neoconda walks over to the pickup truck looking for the snake. It took her a min to find it. But there it was going up in the motor of the truck. It just was a black snake. she took it by the tail, pull on it till it drops from the motor then hit it on the tree two times to kill it. Mom, can you make me a belt from it? No girl. Neoconda put it in the back of the truck, so when she goes in town she would give it to a man name Demack. Thinking to herself snake eat snake.
Ok, you ready to work she ask Tri. I have been waiting for you. As she jumps on her 4wheeler at was pink and too big for her. A 350 banshee and her mom on the same thing. And they take off down the road. About 3 fields down they pass by greens, beans, corn, watermelon, 3 different types of squash, pear trees, lemon trees, orange trees, peach trees, all types of lettuce, cherry trees if you can think about it they had it. Thanksgiving and Christmas time, she let anyone, and everyone come pick them some food. All the workers always look happy to be in the fields working. It’s like no place on earth. Besides after they do all their work they get to take a bag of food home on payday. Plus, with it being payday and all, keep all the workers smiling too. Come get your check and you can go home I’ll clock you out at 5: pm. Tri yells out. It was 12: noon everyone was happy they were getting paid for the day but only did a half day. One by one she gives them their check and one by one they said thanks. MOM, I’LL BEAT YOU HOME!
The 4 wheelers were making a lot of noise and as they are cutting through the field to go home. Going by the renter place woke Boogie up. He looks out the window. What the fuck! He sees two 4wheeler rides by. He knows that one 4wheeler a lil kid was driving it. What is the world coming too, he was thinking? Look at the cell phone that was dead. So, he turns the TV on to see what time it was, just learning he slept for 2 ½ days. Damn it! Check his bag and gun under his pillow. Everything was there then his nose told him to jump in the shower. 6’1 and 197 lbs. if he wasn’t tall, he would be fat. But he looks like someone who did play basketball. As he just sits back and eats whatever he wanted. He jumps out the shower and put a towel around him. And walks to the front door thinking this could be the place, but one thing would stop that daydream. Neoconda fuck. Put a hand on his belly needing something to eat. He got dress, putting on some black jeans and an orange wife beater shirt & kick it off with some boots. He picks up his gun but put it back. Told himself he really didn’t need it. Besides he had two in his car. Jump in, he when looking for a place to eat. He stops one of the farmers who was walking and ask him where he could get something to eat. I’ll show you, I’m going to get something for myself and it’s free. But is it good, Boogie ask. Yea Damn good. All fresh too. Boogie turn the car around and the man told him which way to go. They call me Slow, I’m Boogie like the boogie man. That why they call Slow Boogie said low. Slow just looks at him, want to ask did he just say he was dumb, but at the same time, knew he’ll get his ass kick and would have to walk.
Turn right here. Going down a road that goes to a brown brick house with a black door and the road going around in a circle with the biggest bird bath known to man. Who lives here? My boss. Your boss! Man get out my car. You got me taking you to work. I’m off work. She let me eat lunch here and dinner if I want too. Tri stands at the door trying to see why Boogie was in her yard. Then Slow was getting out.
Mr. Slow what are you doing? What you are doing with my tenant. Mrs. Trirena I was just coming to get something to eat and he asks me where he can eat at. I told him good food was here. he answers. Yea, but I think he wants to know where he could go buy him something to eat! Trirena yells out to Slow. Why it’s free here and better than that stuff in town. I guess you can come get something to eat Mr. Boogie. You here now anyway. How old is that lil girl Boogie ask Slow? I think 40-year-old if I had to guess. Boogie look at him like why he asks. Where her parents at. Mrs. Neoconda is in the house cooking. Who you say. Mrs. Neoconda, you know you can put a little pee, pee in your ear it’ll make you hear well. Slow told Boogie. Nigger, what you said. If you put a lit-. with his hand up Stop nigger you can’t be that slow. No one can be that slow. Boogie look at him talking loud. With the face of where they do this that. How a child run things and this grown ass man act like a child. They walk into the house and turn to the left where they see a black baby piano. And the food hit him the nose. Damn that smell good! Boogie said out loud but wasn’t trying to look like a needed person. Trirena turns to him saying, you better watch your mouth.
Before my mom wash it for you. My bad ma my bad. As they walk into the kitchen he sees a female in a white wife beater and green shorts on. Slow come here Neoconda say. And she walks in the back never look behind. You in trouble, Trirena said. Slow walk behind Neoconda with his head down. Did you ask if you could bring someone to my house? No ma, as he was about to cry just don’t do it again or you will not come back here you understand me yes ma yes ma I understand. Do I need to go home, or can I eat lunch? I’m just going to go home. Go eat. Thank you, I won't do it again. No, I’ll just walk here for now and I won't tell anyone about our free food. she thinks to herself is he on bath salt. But know the only thing he is on is colt 45. She walks back in the kitchen never look Boogie in his face. Because the night Tri pick up the $2000.00 and had the papers for him to sign. she knew right then who he was.
She when back cutting the onions, celery, etc. up. Tri giving them a bowl each. Go help yourself she said. Slow took his bowl and when to the crockpot. And put two big wood spoons full in his bowl. Ms. Tri where are the crackers. Up there in the big red jar. Slow try to get it, but couldn’t reach it. Boogie walk over and took the jar down. Thanks, young man Slow said with a smile on his face getting ready to eat his soup like he hasn’t eaten for years. Man, you going to eat. Slow look at Boogie. Boogie look in the pot what is it. Ribs soup Tri and Boogie said at the same time. What the fuck is rib soup. Just eat man. I’ll past. Ok more for me. Boogie nose was telling him to try it. his belly was playing nagger knot with his back. So, he told himself,” if that nigger not dead and he looks like he eats here every day. Fuck it. he Put a spoon full in his bowl. And slowly put it to his mouth then stop and close his eyes and prayed.
Lord I know I did some bad shit, please don’t let this food be a setup and she kills me like this. Because this nigger belly looks stronger than mine. He Put the spoon in his mouth. Yea she answers back. Then he when back to pot got two more spoons full he was about to walk away, but stop and turn back around and got half spoon more to go. he made his way to the living room ask Slow did he need a ride home.
