(Neoconda & Boogie the book)6:30pm

                      6:30 pm came, Boogie when to the gas station and got some gas & some soda. He saw some Mexicans with a fruit stand and flowers. He paid for 24 roses 12 was pink and 12 was white. Then he turns to get his car Mr. Boogie Hey Mr. Boogie he looks up to see Slow. Damn this motherfucker be walking everywhere. What’z up Slow. Are you going to Mrs. Neoconda for dinner? You know the food is free. Slow ask so fast Boogie almost didn’t understand him. Man didn’t she get on you about bring people to her place for food. Yea but she’s talking about new people you are old people now. You’ll family now. I just can’t bring in a new family. So, are you going can I get a ride, because they are making fun of me? Saying I was dreaming about riding in your car and you being family. Boogie look over to the gas station where he saw the same old men making fun of him about he couldn’t pull Neoconda. Get in Fam he told Slow. And Slow turn around stuck his tongue out to the old men standing outside the store. And Boogie told himself fuck it. And stuck his out too. One of the old men said fuck you, young jig and look at the other old and ask that’s what they say right. Like the other old man knew if it was right or not.

                         Boogie picks the rocks up with his car back tire and they were on their way to free food as Slow would say. After a long drive down the road, they pull up to Neoconda front door. Boogie was going to knock on the door or ring the doorbell, Slow just open the door. And yell out we’re here. Boogie just walk in thinking, where he is from you can’t do this kind of shit. But the food was coming from the kitchen smelling good. Tri coming running around the corner. You come for so more. When she saw Boogie was with Slow. Mr. slow why you with him. Slow answer because we are family now. Why? s looking at Boogie with a face of why he in her family. But was happy at the same time because the only person she had for a family was Slow. Before Slow could answer Boogie, I got some flowers. I hope you like them give her the pink ones. She walks up to with her hands on her hips like she was taller than she was. And smile because no one ever gave her flowers just toys. Ok, you can be in my family. For now, anywayz. If I had a lil girl I want her to be just like you. Boogie told her. Why because I’m a star. Mr. Slow I’m the star around here right. Yes ma, you are. The biggest star in the hold world. I like you in that movie play that lil white girl with that curly red hair. She turns and look at Boogie and put her finger to her lips telling Boogie don’t tell the truth. He put his hand going across his lips like his zip his lips up. And Slow just when on and on about that movie. Boogie just smile and walk behind them going to the kitchen. Mom Mr. Boogie got me some flowers see. It was his first time seeing her jump around like the little girl she really is. Got you some too. Thanks, Neoconda said trying to hold her smile in. because she doesn’t remember when the last time receives anything from anyone.

 She never had a family till Tri was born. She stops being a hit man when she came along. Never had a boyfriend or friends. She grew up on the streets. She and her mother were homeless, but her mother made sure she ate 4 times a day. And her mother was the only person who gave her anything. Make sure you learn everything from anyone and everyone. Everyone has a gift to teach you. No one is less than you. Everyone is your teacher. You learn from what they know you’ll be better than me and them. Keep your eyes open and listen with eyes. Because your eyes don’t lie, and your ears will play tricks on you. You understand me, child, her mother told her.

Everyone help set the table. I cook the green beans Tri was telling Slow and Boogie. I’m going to get a lot then. Boogie said to her smiling. Everyone sit down. Boogie was trying to remember when the last time he was at a table to eat.

 17 years old was the last time April 13, 1996, the day his mother died in her sleep. He remembers being at the hospital he wasn’t the only child who lost their mother that night. He remembers he had his dad and family with him, but a girl around his age lost her mother too and she didn’t have anyone, and police were trying to take her with them. But she pushes one down and hit the other on the nose. It was like Bruce Lee movie. As everyone came for her but she kicks all their ass and walks past him and his family like she didn’t do anything. I’ll be back for my mom body and I don’t want any shit about it. She told the doctor. And she came back with a mortician who she paid to get her mother’s body and who said he was her father. Boogie knew he wasn’t that girl father because he saw her when she gave him money and told him.  I’ll give you the other half when you give me my mother ashes. And make sure I get out of here. The policemen were mad, they just knew they had her. The mortician said you had no right trying to hold my child. No one didn’t even call me and let me know my wife die. I’m going to sue this hospital. which one hit you. As he looks at the cops why asking Neoconda. He did, and he did pointing at the two officers who were looking crazy because they never had a chance to do anything. We were told they were homeless and she had no family sir one office cried. Then anyone asks her about where she lived.

Earth to Mr. Boogie, hello is there anyone home. Tri yells out. I must go to bed at eight and I would like to eat before I go. If it's ok with you. My bad ma. I was just thinking about the last time I was sitting down at a table like this. Boogie told her. Heads down and eyes close Tri said.  Thanks, to the energy that made us & this food & bless the ones who don’t have. Thank you for Mr. Boogie and teaching him to stop daydreaming at the dinner table let everyone say, queen & king, we are. Boogie was about to say amen but heard Slow say King and Tri & Neoconda say, queen. Tri looks at Boogie and he said king, as he was feeling like he was being picked on, but at the same time, learn he was a king. Everyone made their plate and Boogie saw everyone got meat on their plates but Neoconda. Why you don’t eat meat, but can cook the sh--, about to say shit but saw Tri looking and wait to put her 2 cents on it. You know what I’m trying to say. Everyone looks to see the answer. Is it in that bible? the answer she gave all of them? Knowing it was because she kills people, so she gave up meat because she didn’t want to get sick. Why I must eat it. Tri asks you don’t if you don’t want too. Ok tomorrow I’m not going to eat any more meat. Everyone started laughing, I know that’s a lie Slow came back with. We eat bacon every morning. I can eat all your bacon then. No, you can Tri cried. I’ll only eat it in the morning. You can’t do that Slow said back mad. Neoconda and Boogie busy out laughing hard because Tri and Slow were going back and forth with who can eat the bacon in the morning. Tri was about to cry and Slow said Ms. Trirena don’t cry I’m not going to eat all the bacon. We keep doing what we always do ok. She cleans her face up. And everyone ate their food. Boogie told himself he wasn’t going to ask that question again. He was done after that. Tri gives her Neoconda a hug around her neck. Neoconda picks her up told Boogie I’m going to get her ready for bed. You can leave your plate and if you want you can take some of the food homes. Slow put more food on his plate and when to eating like it was his 1^st plate of food. Neoconda when up the stairs holding Tri on her back. Give her a bath and then putting her to bed. When she came back down she saw the table was clean and the dishes were washed. Boogie was working on the pots and Slow was nowhere to be found like always after dinner. You didn’t have to clean up. And her phone ring. She pulls it out her pocket No I’m good she said and put it back. Why answer the phone just to say no. he asks her? She acted like she didn’t hear him just ask her that. Thanks for cleaning up I got it from here, she said. O you going to act like you didn’t hear me. If I had to guess, someone needs you to do a job. Like the one, someone needed you to on me. Are they calling you for me?  Neoconda just looks at him, like he thinks he knows everything. Don’t know she answers. Don’t know. You said the same words the last time I saw you.

I can’t give you an answer to something I don’t know. She said slowly. But you can help find out who’s trying to have me kill, can you? Don’t know she said. You must give something better than that, I can’t be looking behind my back like I have a life sentence. Knowing if she did she be back in. everything in her told her to say,” Don’t know “but I’ll see, came out as she turns around an walk out, leaving Boogie with the pots to clean by himself.
