In ancient Egyptian culture the Sun was considered the manifestation of god. He was called Ra. But his full name is Ra - Atum - Khepri. (Ra - the Sun at the zenith (noon), Atum - the setting Sun, and Khepri - the rising Sun).

Ra is the most famous of the ancient Egyptian gods. He was a sun god who was the king of the ancient Egyptian pantheon and the creator of all life. He was the most widely worshiped god in ancient Egypt. Understanding his role in ancient Egyptian religion and how he was combined with other Egyptian gods over time can be difficult.

One of the most important deities in Egyptian mythology, the sun god Ra (or Re) was the supreme power in the universe. The giver of life, he was often merged with the god Amun as Amun-Ra. Some myths present Ra as the head of the Egyptian pantheon and ruler of all the gods. Others say that he was the only god and that all other deities were merely aspects of Ra.
